Feb 26 Mrs. Anderson is looking for timekeepers for broomball this weekend.  If you are looking for volunteer hours, please come to the office to sign up.
Feb 26 There will be a short meeting on Friday at 11:45 in Room 118 for those students travelling to Costa Rica next week.
Feb 26 Registration for Youth Soccer and Dryden Minor Softball will be on March 3rd & 5th at the First United Church. Registration forms for the Softball are available at the office and after it’s filled out, they can be handed back to the office to be placed in Mrs. Coopers mailbox.
Feb 26 You can still pick up your match maker for $2 at the office.
Feb 26 Grade 12 graduation picture re-takes will be on March 26 & 27.  Remember you must register on-line to book your appointment.  Come to the office for the information.

Morning Announcements – Monday, February 24th, 2014

Feb 24 The girl’s hockey team defeated the Red Lake Rams last night 4 - 2 in their opening playoff game behind a solid team effort.  Scoring for the Eagles were Brenna Stratford, Elizabeth Carter, Liv Carter, and Martina Wintle.  Game 2 is Tuesday night in Red Lake.
Feb 24 & 25 The Grade 7/8 elementary basketball tournament will be held at DHS this Thursday and they need referees from 8 – 3:30.  If you are interested in volunteering please see Mr. Lalonde.

School Closure – Water Main Break

Wednesday, February 12, 2014 (7:40pm) - Due to a major water main break in front of Dryden High School earlier tonight, DRYDEN HIGH SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2014.  KPDSB Senior Administration will monitor the status of the break and it's repairs throughout the day on Thursday and will reevaluate the decision to close Dryden High School lateThursday afternoon.  At that time, a decision will be made with regards to a possible continued closure on Friday, February 14.  All DHS staff as well as Dryden Board Office staff do not have to report to the closest work site as they can work from home

Feb 7 Jacquie Grandmont backstopped the girls hockey team to a 5 - 2 win against the Beaver Brae Broncos last night in Kenora.  Liv Carter netted a natural hat trick while Elizabeth Carter and Lyndsey Oliphant added singles.  The girls next action is against the Muskies in Fort Frances next Tuesday.  Listen to the game live on CKDR.
Feb 7 Attention students interested in trying out for Eagles track and field.  Join us for our event clinic this weekend.  National level coaches will be on hand to teach throwing, jumping, sprinting hurdles and mid distance events.  The clinic will be held in the big gym on Friday 3:30-5:30pm, Sat 9am-3pm and Sunday 9am-12.  This is a great chance to try out all the events and pick the ones you like.

Feb 4 “Congratulations to all Nordic Ski Team athletes who competed at NORWOSSA in Atikokan yesterday.  A break in the weather produced an excellent race time temperature of minus 12.  In the Junior Girls category, Britney Mol won gold on the 3.7km course.  Devan Schmidt took the bronze in the Junior Boys category, skiing 4.5km, while Dryden dominated the Senior Boys 7.5km category with Luke Smith winning Silver and Jeff Wise winning Gold!  Athletes will be preparing to compete next week at NWOSSA in Kenora.”
