Nov. 25 Are you interested in Science, Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Leadership?  Are you willing to spend four weeks of summer on a university campus with other students as energetic as you?  If this sounds interesting, come to an information meeting for Shad Valley tomorrow at 11:30 in room 137.  Contact Mr Schmidt for more details.
Nov. 25 A huge congratulations to the Sr. Boys Volleyball team for their antique bronze metal at OFSAA in T.Bay this weekend.  They were 4th in all of Ontario!  Way to go!!
Nov. 25 The students that had picture retakes can now pick up your student card at the office, providing your student fees have been paid.
Nov. 25 Lakehead University is preparing for its 2013 Fall Preview Days on Tuesday, December 3rd.  This event is open to grade 12 students, their family and friends.  Registration information is available in the GO.
Nov. 25 Grade 12 students applying to universities and colleges outside of Ontario MUST let the guidance office know, or your transcripts will not be sent. Also, please remember to check the DHS website and the binder in the guidance office on a regular basis for the latest scholarships and bursaries.
Nov. 25 There are quite a few lost and found items in the office, please come and have a look if you are missing something.

Morning Announcements – November 20th, 2013

Nov. 20 The Nordic Ski Team Dryland Practice will be indoors tonight.  Please meet in room 137 @3:30.  New athletes are welcome!
Nov. 20 The students that had picture retakes can now pick up your student card at the office, providing your student fees have been paid.  Your pictures will be handed out today in your block A class.
Nov. 20 Today at lunch you can come to the student square to hand in your sold safe grad tickets or to collect more tickets to sell.
Nov. 20 am Next Wednesday, Nov 27th we are hosting the Elementary Volleyball Tournament.  Students interested in scorekeeping and/or refereeing in this tournament are to sign up in the main office or contact Mr. P. Darling via email or twitter.
Nov. 20 Lakehead University is preparing for its 2013 Fall Preview Days on Tuesday, December 3rd.  This event is open to grade 12 students, their family and friends.  Registration information is available in the GO.

Morning Announcements – November 19th, 2013

Nov. 19 In regards to the bus cancellation yesterday and attendance, students that ride the bus do not need a note as you were excused.  If you are not a bus student and were absent, you will need a written note to get an admit.
Nov. 19 Sr. boys b.ball practice at 5 tonight.
Nov. 19 Cheerleaders can pick up their competition waiver in the office today.
Nov. 19 Young ladies of DHS are welcome to join Mrs. Ambridge in Room 130 starting today to make Christmas ornaments to decorate our tree.  Today’s project is mini moccasins and the lunch is pancakes.
Nov. 19 The singles ping pong tournament will occur as scheduled today.  Please make your way to the cafeteria at the start of lunch.
Nov. 19 –all day Today is the last day to submit order forms for the Eagles Jackets.  Please bring your form to the eagles nest store at lunch.  For those that were waiting for jackets to try on, they will be in the store at lunch today.
Nov. 19 (am & lunch) Ont. Students Against Impaired Driving members are reminded of the video conference today at the start of lunch in the upper video conference room.  Members are asked to be prompt and to bring your lunch.
Nov. 19 Any boys/girls interested in wrestling.  It’s not too late. You can still go to room 109 and see Mr. Walsh to sign up.
