Morning Announcements – Thursday, October 31st

Oct. 31 Lakehead University is preparing for its 2013 Fall Preview Days on Tuesday, December 3rd.  This event is open to grade 12 students, their family and friends.  Registration information is available in the GO.
Oct. 31 All students travelling with Mrs Ambridge to Trent university are to go to Room 206 at 11:30 today for final travel information.  This is a mandatory meeting.
Oct 31 The girls hockey team is looking for someone to play music at their home games.  Please see Mr. Carter right away if interested.
Oct. 31 Grade 12 students applying to universities and colleges outside of Ontario MUST let the guidance office know, or your transcripts will not be sent. Also, please remember to check the DHS website and the binder in the guidance office on a regular basis for the latest scholarships and bursaries.
Oct. 31 Picture re-takes will be on Wednesday, November 6th.  Also the Canadian Armed Forces will be here on Nov. 6th at 9:00 am in the Library.  If you are interested in University, College or the Reserves you should attend this session.  Sign up in the GO.

Morning Announcements – October 28, 2013

Oct. 28 (8:50 & 3:10) The football team lockers will be emptied at 3:10 pm today.  Please remove any personal items.
Oct 28 (8:50 & 3:10) Eagles Cross Country Team will have team pictures today at noon in the Big Gym.  Please wear your shorts and racing singlet.

There will also be a short meeting for all those attending OFSAA Cross Country in Sudbury this weekend.

Oct. 28 The Gay-Straight Alliance meeting will be today at lunch in the upper video conference room.

“Drive for a Cause” at Dryden GM

Dryden GM is looking for community support to help raise funds for a new tire machine for Dryden High School.

On October 25th and 26th “DRIVE FOR A CAUSE” will be taking place at Dryden GM on Government Street. All you have to do is go down to Dryden GM and take a vehicle for a test drive.

The goal is for 200 test drives to take place over 2 days. Every test drive taken generates dollars that will be matched by GM’s corporate office. Come on out and support this fundraising activity for DHS.

Oct. 21 The Boy’s golf team had a good showing at OFSSA in Windsor finishing 14th overall out of 20 teams, 9 shots out of the top 10.

Kirk Markowski shot a pair of 79’s to finish 39th out of 122 competitors. Josh Kitt was 74th, Trey Palermo 86th and Cam Zappitelli 100th. Congratulations on an excellent season.
