2013-2014 Local Bursaries & Scholarships

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

1.  In order to qualify for awards, students must:

  • have attended Dryden High School as a fulltime (minimum of three courses) student at least one semester for this school year
  • be in their final year of high school prior to attending a post-secondary institution
  • attend the post-secondary institution within the upcoming school year

2.  When applying for awards, students must complete a separate application form for each bursary, award or scholarship that requires an application.

3.  The guidance office will forward student transcripts to individual sponsors upon their request.

4.  The due date for most bursaries and scholarships is May 16, 2014, unless otherwise stated. Students are responsible for mailing their own applications.

**New** Scholarships and Bursaries :

DRYDEN GIRLS HOCKEY

DGHA will award one or a number of awards ranging in amounts, depending on the number of successful applicants.  This award will be given to a student(s) who best combines academics, athletics, sportsmanship, volunteerism and community/school involvement and is continuing on to a post-secondary education institution.  The student will have been registered and completed a minimum of two (2) years in the DGHA program as a player.  Payment will be forwarded upon receipt of confirmation of registration in January.

EAGLE’S NEST SCHOLARSHIP

A scholarship in the amount of $250 will be awarded to a graduating student of Dryden High School who has participated in a number of Business Education courses related to the Eagle’s Nest school store.  The recipient will have demonstrated significant involvement, initiative, and made valuable contributions to the school store during their time at Dryden High School.  The successful recipient will be selected by the Business Education Teachers at Dryden High School.  Payment will be forwarded upon receipt of confirmation of registration in January.
