Morning Announcements – June 13th, 2012

June 13 Attention Grade 10 Con Camp Participants – Please come to a brief meeting at lunch in the library today.  You will be signing thank you cards.
June 13 Thrive and Urban Aboriginal students - lunch meeting is today in room 210.
June 13 Attention All Students:  Please make sure you empty your locker and take your lock home for the summer.  Any locks left behind will be removed, as custodial staff will be washing out all lockers next week.  Your locker will be re-assigned to you when you register in the fall.
June 13 Students using school laptops are reminded to return the laptop to Mrs. Jones in the Student Resource Centre before Wednesday, June 13.
June 13 Hey Eagles.  Are you graduating?  Have you got any Eagles Wear to proudly show where you went to school when you walk out the doors of DHS for the last time?  Come to the Eagles Nest and pick something up today.
June 13 New Prospect School is looking for volunteers for this Friday from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. to paint faces, help with a “hair salon”, run games, etc.  Come to the office for more information.
June 13 The Friendship Centre is looking for 5 volunteers to cook fish on June 20th.  Please call Frances at 223-4180.
June 13 Girls & boys soccer players are to return any DHS uniforms to the Phys. Ed. office with your name attached before exams.
June 13 Organizers for the Canada Day Triathlon are looking for some volunteers to help out with Triathlon events.  For more information please call Cindy Smith 223-8876.
June 13 For any students looking for some volunteer hours at the beginning of the school year, the office is looking for students to help with our locker assignment for a few days from August  21st – 24th.

Morning Announcements – June 12, 2012

June 12 Be sure to congratulate the Eagles Track and Field Athletes who competed at OFSAA track and field in Brockville Ontario last week.  Andie Wood, Emily Plett, Jake Wickstrom and Shane Kirton set 6 new DHS records and one new NWOSSAA record in 7 events over three days.  Each of these DHS Eagles are now ranked amongst the top 24 athletes in the province in their respective events.  Congratulations for an amazing performance from DHS’s team in just its first year as a team.
June 12 The Ricoh Printer in the library is no longer working.  Please do not send any print jobs to it.

Morning Announcements – June 7, 2012

June 7 We rocked, we rolled, and we brought awesome back.  Congratulations to all of the music classes on an epic show!  Freddie Mercury would be proud!
June 7 Any of Mr. Zilkaln’s students needing to make up their fitness test are reminded to come to the big gym at 11:30 today.
June 7 Football tryouts ended yesterday in an exciting Blue & Gold game where the outcome was decided on the final play.  Joey Presta put team Gold ahead early but a 45 yard Braydon Hansson to Steven Piche pass brought Blue to within 1 point.  Doug Taylor’s 2 point conversion gave Blue the win.

June 7 All athletes are reminded to sell your calendars & hand in the stubs & money this week to the phys. ed. office.  Your efforts are important in keeping the program strong.

June 5 Noon hour lunch is moved to Thursday.  Come on out for a year end BBQ.  Mrs. Tremonti’s period two PPF class is reminded we are at the Rec Centre today.

Dryden Co-Ed Basketball Camp

A co-ed basketball camp by the University of Manitoba Women’s Head Coach Pam Danis and local area coaches.

The camp takes place Tuesday August 7th to Thursday August 9th for 3 hrs. per day.

Athletes going into Grades 5 to 8 are in session between 9am to 12pm
Athletes going into Grades 9 to 12 are in session between 1pm to 4pm

Cost is $90.00 and includes a t-shirt and prizes
