Morning Announcements – November 2, 2011

Nov. 2 Our girls basketball & boys volleyball teams play their last regular league season game here tomorrow against Beaver Brae.  Wear your blue & gold or eagles wear clothes to school & come cheer on our teams.  Games start at 12 noon in both gyms tomorrow.
Nov. 1 – 3 All interested wrestlers for this season are to attend a brief meeting on Thursday at 11:30 in Room 113.
Nov. 2 Drama Club!  There is script reading after school today from 3:30 until 5:00.
Nov. 1 – 3 Football players are reminded they have until Thursday to clean out their lockers.  Leave DHS equipment in the locker please.
Oct. 24 – Nov. 8 Photo Retake day is November 9th starting at 9:00 a.m.  If you did not get your picture taken yet, or if you are unhappy with your photo results, you can have your photo taken again.  The photographers do not reshoot students who had their pictures done but did not purchase a package unless you are paying for a new package.
Nov. 2 Grade 12 students are encouraged to check out the high school website for the latest scholarships and bursaries.  Stop by the guidance office for more information.
Nov. 2 Grade 12 students applying to universities and colleges outside of Ontario, MUST let the guidance office know, or transcripts will not be sent.

Eagles Court Sports Results

The Dryden Eagles court sport teams travelled to Fort Frances to take on the Muskies in their last home games of the regular season.

Jr. Girls Basketball played a tough game but came up short 38-33.  Leading Dryden scorers were Elissa Mawby 16, Kyla Lindquist 6.

Sr. Girls Basketball came away with the win, 43-25.  Leading Dryden scorers were Morgan Church 13,  Alana Benson 10.

Jr. Boys Volleyball won in 5 sets, 22-25, 25-20, 26-28, 25-13, 15-13.

Sr. Boys Volleyball won in 4 sets, 25-18, 19-25, 25-13, 25-4.

Dryden’s last league game will be thursday vs. the Kenora  Beaver Brae Broncos.

Nov. 1 Canadian Blood Services is asking for 35 students and staff to help hospital patients by donating blood at DHS today 12:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 – 8:00p.m.  There are still 17 appointment spots to fill between 12:25 and 1:45 today.  Those wishing to donate at other times or for other information can call 1-888-2-DONATE(1-888-236-6283).  Thank you for helping hospital patients in need.  Sign-up is here in the main office.
