Report Card Pickup and DHS Summer Hours

Semester 2 report cards are now available for pickup in the DHS Main Office Monday - Thursday from 7:00 to 2:30 this week and next.

The Dryden High School main office is open from Monday-Thursday from 7:00 to 2:30 until July 14th. The office will be closed from July 15th through to August 15th.

The DHS Guidance office is open Monday-Thursday from 8:00 to 2:00. The Guidance office will be closed from July 25th to August 8th, and will reopen Monday-Thursday on August 9th.

Morning Announcements – June 14, 2011

June 14 Mrs. Bachynski’s period 2 class is to meet at the Dryden Rec Complex.
June 14 Students using school laptops are reminded to return the laptops to Mrs. Jones in the Student Resource Centre as soon as possible BEFORE Wednesday, June 15.
June 14 Grace Haven is looking for 4 student volunteers for the afternoon of June 22 to participate in a card tournament with clients.  If you are interested, please come to the main office for more information.
June 14 Grade 12 students planning to attend Lakehead University this fall, there is an early orientation on July 8th & 9th.  You can check out the campus, meet faculty and staff or learn about their support services.  For more information or to sign up, stop by the guidance office.

June 8 Reminder to all athletes to get your tickets for the Banquet this Thursday.  Tickets are $10 each & parents are welcome to attend too.  Tickets are on sale in the Phys. Ed. office or main office.
June 8 There will be an important wrap-up meeting for all con-camp participants on Thursday at lunch in the library.  This should not be more than 30 minutes if everyone is there on time.
June 8 Fourteen Bursaries of $500.00 or $1000.00 are available to be won, and the opportunity to save lives this summer from June 1 to Sept. 3, 2011.  Last year one of 2 qualifying students won a bursary of $500 - $1000.  Applications and information are available in the guidance office.
June 8 The Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage Club of Dryden has extended the deadline for bursary applications to Friday, June 10.  Please stop by the guidance office for more information.
June 8 Here is another opportunity to get more volunteer hours if needed.  Helpers are needed at a Volunteer Appreciation Tea on June 10 between 1:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. at the Legion Hall.  Please call Brenda Schmucker at 223-7407 if you can help them out.

New Bursary – Lorne Crawford Memorial Bursary

THE LORNE CRAWFORD MEMORIAL BURSARY

Available to the son, daughter or relative of a past or present Woodlands employee.  If there is no recipient, then the son, daughter or relative of a mill employee.  The candidate must show dedication to development of leadership, academics, and proceeding to college or university.  Financial need will be considered.

Deadline: June 10, 2011
Use #1 DHS Application.
Bring the completed application to the Guidance Office.
