Morning Announcements – May 31, 2011

May 31, June 1 Mr. Darling’s Biology students are reminded that class is at lunch from 11:30 – 12:30 in room 116.
May 31 The Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage Club of Dryden has extended the deadline for bursary applications to Friday, June 10.  Please stop by the guidance office for more information.
May 30 – June 1 Any student athletes looking for volunteer hours, Upward Basketball Camp Aug. 15 – 19/11 are looking for coaches/helpers.  Contact Mr. Gardner.
May 30, 31 Attention Hoops for Heart participants.  The incentive prizes have arrived.  If you participated in the Hoops for Heart Basketball Tourney last month, please come to Room 117 today at 11:30 to claim your prizes.  Activity Day teams who paid – you can come to get your money back today @ 11:30 in room 117.
May 31 The Athletic Awards Banquet is June 9th.  Tickets are on sale in the Phys. Ed. office for $10.00 each.  The Theme is Pretty In Pink – see the T.V. screen in the student square for more information.
May 31 Grade 12 students, if you are planning to take the following postsecondary courses this fall:  justice system, police foundations, social work, law or politics, then stop by the guidance office for bursary information.
May 31 Attention to students who have not yet returned the green Consent to Release Personal Information form that was in with your report cards, please return this form as soon as possible.  Without this consent form, your picture will not be in the yearbook.  If you need a form, there are extras here in the main office. 

Conservation Camp welcomes Southern Ontario participants

The annual DHS Conservation Camp begins tomorrow, and this year for the first time 15 students from Southern Ontario towns will be participating along with Dryden High School students.

Conservation Course is an opportunity for students to learn about forestry in northern Ontario, through a 3-day camp experience. Students have the chance to see forest management on Ontario crown land and meet those employed in the forestry and natural resources fields.

May 30 Family Safety Night is just around the corner on Wednesday, June 1st from 4:00 pm until 7:00 p.m.  The organizers are in need of someone to dress up in the Sparky costume.  Come to the main office for more information if you are in need of some volunteer hours.
